Still going - but finally made it …

Tuesday 21st October

It’s currently 23:36 on the 21st October and we are still not at the apartment yet… after getting in three hours late, we had a mad dash through the airport to catch the Hello Kitty Haruka train and then on to Osaka where we got on the BIG bullet train - the Nozomi. This is the fastest one and as we are so desperate to get to the house and settled, we are taking the quickest route possible.  We should be in Hiroshima by midnight.  Just a quick 10 minute walk then we are finally at the house….. and I can have a shower (2 days of god knows what on me) brush my teeth, have a cuppa and think about going to bed.

Wednesday 22nd

We did finally make it to the house at 00:15 ….. but we were both completely wired.  I attempted to go to bed … read for a little while then tried to get some sleep.  I had about 4 hours … Scott the vampire on the other hand stayed up - went for a walk and was in Lawsons about 5am buying milk and bread… weirdo.

We had no expectations for today because we didn’t know how we would sleep so we always said Wednesday would be a quiet day as we haven’t got over the journey, so it was a little walk to Hiroshima station and around the apartment area to check out our surroundings and hit the supermarket for snacks and supplies (yes - started early with the snacks)

I can’t lie - we bought a lot of absolute crap - never shop whe you are jet lagged …. Huge mistake 😂 …. Chocolate, snacks, crisps…. Oh and some food stuff.  All Japanese tho …. And I bought my first tea food … sushi, potato salad and inari sushi (tofu pockets stuffed with rice) … to die for

The rest of the day was spent unpacking and getting ourselves organised.  

Sakamoto House

The house is huge… has 4 bedrooms and sleeps about 12 - so we’ve got a lot of room.  The only problem is that the owner of this place is a massive geek and has soooo many gadgets around that is scary …. There is a big karaoke set (will NEVER be switched on), the TV takes up half the room and he has a ‘special’ cupboard next to the TV with a range of old tech like Tamagotchi, old Gameboys, Cameras, video recorders etc….  But the cupboard is locked and we can’t play with anything 😳

And he has sooooo many dust collectors kicking around … every surface has something on it.  I’m sitting next to a big pink bear of some description ….these things are all over the place.  I’ll put some photos on here later…. When I can see a little better.

But the beds are comfy and the place is clean …. Don’t need anything else.

Speaking of which - jet lag has caught up with both of us and I really need to go to bed ….. so oyasumi nasai ❤️❤️
